If you’re planning a visit to Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City), one question you’re likely asking—especially if you’re a fan of Vietnamese cuisine like me—is, “Where can I find the best bánh mì sandwich?”

Bánh mì is a prime example of fusion cuisine done right—a delicious blend of Vietnamese and French flavors, all packed into a crisp, handheld baguette. Many consider it one of the best sandwiches in the world, and I couldn’t agree more. It’s a culinary gem that’s absolutely worth the trip to Vietnam (or Saigon) just to experience.

Here’s SaigonVibes‘ list of the top 10 places to try Bánh Mì in Ho Chi Minh City that we believe you absolutely can’t miss

1. Bánh mì Huỳnh Hoa

This place is the heart and soul of Ho Chi Minh City, and it’s simply something you cannot miss. I’ll say it again—you cannot miss it when you visit HCM!

This is the most famous banh mi spot in Saigon, and for good reason. While the banh mi here is 3 to 4 times the price of other places, it’s absolutely worth it. The banh mi is huge and packed with toppings, much bigger than most sold in the city. One banh mi could easily be split into two meals. They only offer the Đặc Biệt (Special) version, with no customization, and the veggies are served separately by default. To speed up service, they even have a separate counter for delivery orders and walk-up customers. Overall, it’s a solid and delicious bánh mì, well worth the price. You should definitely try it at least once.
