3. Bánh Xèo – Sizzling Mekong pancake, a specialty served at a Chinatown restaurant with over 25 years of history.
4. Bánh Khọt – Crispy Vietnamese bite-sized mini pancake served with herbs and vegetables and spicy sweet fish sauce for dipping
5. Bò kho – Vietnamese beef stew with glass noodles, slow-cooked with carrots and herbs in a rich, flavorful, bright-red broth, garnished with a handful of green onions, cilantro, sliced white onions, and a dash of pepper
6. Nem Bò Nướng – Grilled BBQ beef wrapped in lemon grass served with pickles

Itinerary

Hotel Pickup

Your local student guides will arrive at your hotel (5 mins before your starting time) to pick you up on motorbikes, or we can arrange to meet at the Saigon Opera House as a meeting point. Please make sure your booking address is correct.

Le Van Tam Park

Refresh taste of kumquat coconut or pineapple jam coconut in District 3 and your guides will introduce you to fellow guests joining the food tour. Next, we’ll head to Le Van Tam Park to relish our signature dish, papaya salad, exclusive to our food tour.

Thich Quang Duc Monument

Continuing the journey, you’ll visit the Thich Quang Duc Monument in District 3 and hear the touching story of the monk who self-immolated in protest against Buddhist persecution.

Vo Van Tan street

Uncover Vietnam’s finest culinary gem, Chuoi nuong, grilled banana with coconut milk. Experience the blend of traditional sweet and salty flavors in tropical fruits and coconut milk sauce.

Nguyễn Thiện Thuật Complex

Next stop is Nguyen Thien Thuat Oldest And Huge Apartment Complex. We climb up the the apartment and see how local people live 3-4 generations in a small apartment and understand more about our life and culture. Here you have a chance to try our famous Bun Bo Hue and sing karaoke in local’s house

Ho Thi Ky market

We explored so many amazing places and tasted iconic Vietnamese dishes, from local favorites to hidden gems, that we would never have found on our own. The ride itself was smooth and surprisingly calm, despite the city’s constant buzz. From the moment we met Mac at our apartment block we had the best time.
Loved exploring district 3 and 10 and experiencing the local foods. From alley ways to the flower market, in the rain, it was an incredible experience.

We have done food tours in Hanoi and Hue, but this one was the best.

We met other groups and all the guides are lovely, but we decided that once you have Mac you won’t go back :).

A great experience and highly recommend!

Great trip around Ho Chi Minh and getting to experience local specialties from trusted street stalls in Districts 1 and 10. Went to places I would not have seen without a guide. Especially loved the beef stew. Brian was a very informative and helpful guide (and an excellent driver).
